Vogueのインタビューで、ジャスティン・ビーバーとヘイリー・ボールドウィンは、昨年9月に結婚して以来の家庭生活について、多くを赤裸々に語っている。「結婚生活は楽なものではないから」との理由で、セラピーを受けていることや、2016年の破局がいまだ尾を引いていることなどを明かした。
ジャスティン・ビーバーは、インタビュアーに対して、自分がドラッグとセックスの問題を抱えていたことを告白。昨年6月にヘイリーとの交際を開始した当時、自らに「禁欲」を課していたことを明かしている。
「神はぼくを、痛みから守ってくれようとするものなんだ。セックスは多くの痛みの原因になり得ると感じた。人はときどき気分が悪いからと関係を持つ。自分への価値を見出せないという理由からだ。女性も男性もね。神に自分の身をささげたいと思ったんだ。自分の魂のために、それがいいと思ったから。結果的に、神はぼくとヘイリーに祝福を与えてくれたと感じるよ」
