『ワイルド・スピード』シリーズなどで知られる人気俳優のドウェイン・ジョンソンが先日、8分以上にもおよぶ動画をツイッターに投稿し「我々のリーダーはどこだ？」「どこにいる？」と繰り返し尋ねる動画が話題となった。そしてその動画がきっかけで、あるサプライズが行われた。
ドウェイン・ジョンソンは現地時間6月15日月曜日、感動的なインスタグラムの動画をシェアした。そこで、高校三年生のロレイン・アンジェラコスさんから届いたという手紙を読み上げたのだ。それは、ロレインさんがもうすぐ卒業するフロリダのポンパノビーチ高校の生徒に向けてのサプライズでもあった。

Truth is, you’re the generation that will have the answers to the questions, we - as adults - are having a challenging time finding the answers to.
My/our accountability to your generation is helping create the pathway to normalizing equality and showing that being compassionate, tough, empathetic, strong and kind are never mutually exclusive.
And your generation will ensure that equality for all, through empathy and respect will remain forever.

「この手紙を受け取った時、とてもびっくりした」とドウェイン。ロレインさんは、8分以上のドウェインの力強いメッセージに応えるために、手紙を書いた。彼女の強いメッセージにドウェインは、度肝を抜かれたようだ。

そしてロレインさんんはなんと手紙に7ドルを同封していた。7ドルはドウェインがキャリアをスタートさせたときの手持ち金額だったという有名なエピソードがある。
この動画には感動的なメッセージでは、12分以上もドウェインが話し続けており、ドウェイン自身もかなり感激していたことから、卒業生たちをさらに感激させたに違いない。
