The memory of the adorable twins Zack and Cody Martin is still fresh in many of us, even over here in Japan where their Disney sitcom series "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" and sequel "The Suite Life on Deck" gained a considerable number of fans ever since its first release in 2005.

It was a pleasant surprise to find Zack and Cody -- Dylan and Cole Sprouse in real life -- tweeting about their first visit to Japan this summer, not to mention seeing them both so grown up. TVGroove followed their footsteps virtually as they tore through the boiling heat of Japan on their mission as ambassadors from America for the Koyamada Foundation.

This foundation is an American non-profit organization which focuses primarily on guiding youth through martial arts and educating them on cultural diversity. The founder Shin Koyamada is an old Disney colleague and friend of Dylan and Cole, and his foundation appointed the twins as international ambassadors in 2012 to "promote the understanding of peace, friendship, education and cultural diversity within the international youth community."

Now 21 years old and attending New York University, Dylan and Cole landed in Japan early August and spent 10 days visiting multiple cities in Japan such as Tokyo, Sendai, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima and Okinawa. One of their first destinations was Akihabara in Tokyo, a mecca for anime and manga fans -- both of which the twins have admitted to having a huge liking for.

They also set foot in a sumo dojo...

... looked extremely handsome in traditional Japanese summer wear, the ’yukata’...

... and attempted to change history at one of the most famous temples in Kyoto.

As much as we enjoyed seeing the brothers embark on a journey to a foreign land on a noble mission, it would be very nice to see them once again on screen. So far, they have not made official about their plans after college, but as Dylan mentioned to the Huffington Post earlier this year --

"If we left [Disney for college] and returned four years later after we’ve grown, gained an education, looked physically different ... it would only do good for us."

-- we are going to take it that this means showbiz still has a chance and therefore we can keep hoping!
